Chapter 11

An emerging audio technology is internet audio. Internet audio is a useful tool in the classroom because students can be exposed to many different languages like spanish, chinese etc.. One traditional audio is cassette tapes. Cassette tapes can work in the same way with language, giving lessons that you can listen to over and over again. One emerging visual technology is smart boards. Smart boards are great to have in the classroom giving kids a different learning a style getting them involved rather then JUST visual. One traditional visual technology is an overhead projector. This is still used today in classrooms giving the students a more boring and basic way of visual learning.

Tech in the classroom

From reading chapter 6 in the textbook I would much rather teach in a classroom that had a different variety of technology to utilize in the classroom. For example of why it would be so useful is that in chapter 6 they explain about the use of electronic whiteboards and how "teachers can write and illustrate concepts as they teach." This is extremely cool to have in a classroom because many kids enjoy interactive lessons instead of the usual lecture. What technology in the classroom provides is just a complete overhaul to teaching itself. As a teacher I would use many different methods in the classroom using a variety of different technologies like electronic whiteboards, cameras, touch screens, wireless devices, microphones, graphic tablets, pen input devices, scanners and finally computers. All of these devices enhances the way people teach and I would not be caught dead without using technology in the classroom and everyone else should use it as well.

Superbowl Ads

My favorite commercial during the Superbowl was the one when the guy sends an email to his buddy. But on accident he sends it but with 'reply all' instead of sender. Then he goes and destroys all the laptops and cell phones, and all other media devices that he sent the email to. At this point in time I was just cracking up. Then it gets even better later on when he destroys all of them and then goes back to the office and his friend told him that he really only sent it to him instead of everyone else in the email. After I saw that I just could not stop laughing. This commercial is absolutely hilarious and probably the best one the Superbowl had.
